The name "Munro Bagger" is perhaps a little misleading as the primary purpose of the app is to give you, in one view, an indication of the weather forecast for the 282 highest peaks in Scotland (which are known as Munros). The forecasts are taken from the UK Met. Office, which produces separate forecasts for each of the peaks, and updated at regular intervals. The name of the app comes from the website which started the ball rolling: http://www.munrobagger.scot.If the weather for a Munro is to be partly cloudy or clear, an icon showing the sun shining from behind a mountain is placed on the map. For all other weather conditions the icon shows no sunshine. By clicking on tabs you can show the forecast for today, tomorrow and the day after. If you click on a mountain icon, a pop-up will show you the name of the Munro. If you click on the name of the Munro (or the information icon that precedes it) you will see the weather forecast for the selected day. You can leave the forecast open and select today, tomorrow and the day after to see how the forecast changes. Alternatively, you can get rid of the forecast by clicking on the arrow button at the bottom of the forecast. If you are logged in, you will also get the opportunity to mark a Munro as "bagged" (i.e. climbed). Users who are logged in will see bagged/climbed Munros as green icons and unclimbed Munros as deep crimson. This makes selecting Munros for a day's walking a little easier. You can register and login using the menu on the top right. You can ask to hide Munros that have already been climbed by opening the menu on the top left.Your list of bagged Munros is saved on the server which means it can be shared between any of the Android devices that you normally use and you can use the website from your PC.Where this app goes from here is largely up to you. If you have any thoughts for new features or improvements, please go to the About dialog and get in touch.
